Allergies

Allergy test

By now, allergies have become a widespread disease. Every third person in Germany suffers from these hypersensitivity reactions- the most common one is the “hay fever.” To fight an allergy efficiently, it is necessary to isolate the allergen which causes an overreaction of the body. It is not an easy task since 20.000 allergens exist.

The prick-test (or scratch test) is applied at this point. In the prick-test, a drop of the potential purified allergen is applied to the forearm. Afterwards, the skin is gently pricked on with a needle. After approximately 20 minutes skin reactions, usually reddening or blisters can be seen in case of an allergy.

Allergen-desensitizing treatment

Classic desensitizing treatment after testing for allergies.

The body must develop a tolerance against the allergen which causes the overreaction. Hence, in regular intervals, shots are given under the skin (hypodermic) in increasing concentration of the allergen. This leads to a weakening of the allergic reaction towards the triggers of the allergen.

Advantages

  • Allergy symptoms are being weakened
  • Runny nose is stopped

Autohaemotherapy

Alternative medicine and homeopathic treatment

In special cases, alternative medicine offers a number of complementary treatments. This includes autohaemotherapy, in which blood is taken from the patient. The blood is then rehashed with homeopathic adjuvant and subsequently injected into the patient intramuscularly. This therapy proves successful to fight several diseases such as allergies and chronic or acute infections.
